Hey, Quirks here!
I am the individual owner of this blog so if you like something about it or read something that pisses you off, I’m responsible.
I am an avid reader. I love words and I love stories and one thing that I love to do whenever I read something, good or bad, is tell someone about it. And instead of walking up to random people who don’t care about a single word coming out of my mouth and yapping their ears off, I decided to “yap” to people who do care.
And that’s what lead me to writing reviews. I love reading and I love sharing my thoughts and opinions afterwards. I’ve been writing reviews since sometime around the end of 2014 and I finally felt that I was ready to have my own blog, so here it is.
This blog will contain mostly reviews, and on top of that I’ll be doing a monthly wrap up where I’ll summarize my feeling for all the books I read that month so if you don’t feel up to reading the whole review, you can just wait for the wrap up. There will also be occasional book tags, because I love those, and I’ll do a post about the new-releases that are popular or that I’m anticipating, every month.
The reviews will be of books of all genres. I read everything from middle-grade contemporary, young-adult fantasy, new-adult romance to adult mystery. I remember the time I was alternating between Jane Eyre and One…
I wanted to say a little bit about the rating system I’m going to be using for this blog. It’s mostly just a simple 1 to 5 star rating system, but I’ll also be using a 5+ rating for the books that I find extra amazing.
On top of that, I almost never give 1 Star. The only occasions on which I do is if everything about the book – the writing, the plot, the pace and the character development – isn’t good. Or if there is something that I find is wrong, like a crime going unaddressed or a huge plot hole.
Otherwise, even if I hate the book, if it has even one redeeming quality, I’ll give it 1.5 or 2 stars.
I hope that was enough information to give a hint about what this blog is about and I also hope that you like what you see, or read.
That’s all, folks!
